the death of god

After God was banished, the void grew upon us. Creeping slowly and chewing on the corners of our un-perceiving minds. Still we held on. We fashioned new idols, from the fires of industry; conquering the raging wild, banishing the preying demons. We stepped into a new reality. One constructed entirely on finite skeltons of matter.
We learned cruelty, and died for systems and for ideas.

When I was a boy I saw a satellite. A small glimmer in the void.

"Look dad! there it is!"
...and there it was. But only for a moment, and then, it too was gone.

Still we aspire, to the horizon, the infinite, always grasping for the vanishing point.
Clinging tightly to the shadows of myths, and building new ones in their stead.

Incoherent jumbles of ideas pass through my brain like a hoard of screaming children
Scrambling for position and clawing like wild monkeys.
And when at last the first is first
And those who first got chosen last
will pass into the infinite past,
and the rest will slip away,
sparks will spring forth,
The elements composite.
Labor on in patient waiting.
I had a cigarette in the garden,
It burned like a thermal-nuclear reaction,
And I met strangers who carried on just fine
Despite the desolate nature of their privlaged lives
so in between we live as beasts,
ignorant of our fate,
gazing into the void.

The universe is becoming aware of itself through animals with consciousness. It resembles, in my mind, an expansion occurring near the fundamental space-time geometry, away from non-awareness, or perhaps in congruence with the same sets of physical laws as non-awareness, however, its manifestations of its constituent parts are radically different, than say, the core of the sun, or the color red of a chevy pick-up truck. That is to say, everything else in the universe, although seemingly different in both size, shape and chemical make-up, is on the same par, on the same field if you will, so that it may be said there is one universe and that all is within it. This leads me to believe that perhaps too there is just one field of consciousness, and although individual creates take part in this field differently, by creating individual egos and the like, at the most basic level, behind the venere of exterior representations, we are all one within the overarching "field" of this one consciousness. Now you may say both the physically non-aware and the physically aware are indeed within the same field/realm of existence, but lately I've been seriously considering otherwise. Anyways. . .
All these people are little vehicles transporting this awareness. An emergent phenomenon- awareness in this mind knows that it is aware! What does that mean? What can I say about it?!?! Is this really happening?.... In any case, I can only describe this experience (to myself, of course) as an utterly inexplicable realization of existence. Now, to the real question of where existence came from itself perhaps I shall never know. I can't explain how lucky I feel that I get to be alive, fully-aware, I got a turn, out of all the non-aware physical matter that I once was, the unfolding of the universe just so made it coalesce in such a way as to temporarily create myself as a concept to which I am happy to be able to play with as long as it lasts before this momentary conglomeration of neurons sustaining this awareness dispurses back into what it once was.

George Carlin

"Religion has actually convinced people that there's an invisible man -- living in the sky -- who watches everything you do, every minute of every day. And the invisible man has a special list of ten things he does not want you to do.. And if you do any of these ten things, he has a special place, full of fire and smoke and burning and torture and anguish, where he will send you to live and suffer and burn and choke and scream and cry forever and ever 'til the end of time! ..But He loves you."

gnar ass video

So sayeth

"When we speak of Nature it is wrong to forget that we are ourselves a part of Nature. We ought to view ourselves with the same curiosity and openness with which we study a tree, the sky or a thought, because we too are linked to the entire universe." Henri Matisse

rad song

"The fish trap exists because of the fish. Once you've gotten the fish you can forget the trap. The rabbit snare exists because of the rabbit. Once you've gotten the rabbit, you can forget the snare. Words exist because of meaning. Once you've gotten the meaning, you can forget the words. Where can I find a man who has forgotten words so I can talk with him?" ~Chuang Tzu

Eaten Alive

every day we are slowly being eaten. Bit by bit this system in which we live is eating us and shaping us into people we are not. it is a slow and torturous form of utter humiliation that degrades the very fabrics of our beings. We are given simple instinctual pleasures to compensate and keep us on our feet. Bread and circuses. and like the beasts we are we cannot see.
slowly over time we are worn down. beautiful stalks of corn, ground into flour. then baked into bread and eaten by the farmers.
who are these farmers of which I speak? surely they must have escaped to gain such a  convenient position? No. they are just like the rest, only their job is different. they carve up this little planet and all its creatures. and by eating us, they eat themselves as well.
